Have a hard time not loving a villain when he’s crying as he’s ranting…
I love this because even though he’s a God and whatnot, he’s just so much more realistic than most villains in TV shows and movies. In real life when someone is that sad and angry and talking about something that has deeply hurt them they do get emotional, they do cry. TV would have us believe the bad guys are just cold as ice, in fact it’s the same with the heroes. Not enough people friggin’ cry in movies unless it’s a RomCom. Real life, man, people cry.
Actually, that is what struck me about the movie the first time I saw it, and that ended up being why I watched it again some months later and then somehow accidentally faceplanted into fandom — because I remembered this crazy-ass character who was all LOOK AT ME IN CONTROL FROM MY SHADOWS and then as soon as he lost that control he lost that control. He’s volatile as fuck, and I think he scares even himself.
